I’ll quickly explain what SEO is as it applies for nonprofits.
SEO is search engine optimization, and it’s the process of creating content on your website in a way that it shows up higher in search results when people search for certain phrases, particularly Google search.
Google determines what order to list web pages for a search primarily based on the content of that webpage – meaning, is it relevant information for what that person is searching for?
To be relevant in search results, you can’t just write content about your nonprofit or project updates, because that’s not what people are searching for.
People are searching to learn more about certain issues and how to be apart of the solution.
So if your nonprofit was to excel in SEO, the bulk of your website content needs to explain the issues and provide practical actions people can take.
Writing a lot of comprehensive and quality content on that will help your nonprofits website show up higher in search results and get more visits to your website.
